Chapters

Our stories are split into chapters. Narrators set up detail about each chapter in advance. At the top of the page we’re displaying the chapter’s summary so that players always know where they are. Chapter summaries are used to convey information about the setting and tone of a chapter.

Force

Force allows you to change the path of a story. Think that sword should be a gun? The smile should be a scowl? Romeo shouldn’t take the poison? Force can make it happen. Earn Force by writing well, progressing through stories, and creating great characters.

Objectives

Giving the protagonist an objective for each chapter solves an important problem that came up in our early play-testing. Characters thrown into a new story tend to spend time simply exploring if they have no sense of task. Tying these objectives to game play rewards help keep the tasks relevant to the protagonist.

Encounters

Narrators play Encounters during a chapter to keep the story moving along. Encounters can be characters that appear, events that happen, or anything you can imagine.

The Narrator

As Narrator, craft a mythos for your protagonist to inhabit. Guide your protagonist through your story, chapter by chapter, encounter by encounter. But be prepared to adapt to your hero as she forces her point.
